Pieceful Quilt Classes - Fall '07

Irish Stars Quilt
Our own Carrie Quinn, owner of Pieceful Gathering Quilt Shop, designed this beautiful quilt!  It is strip-pieced with light and dark fabrics and is an Irish Chain with added stars.  The fabric requirements are for a queen size quilt.  You will learn a variety of tips to improve accuracy and to save time!

Mother Daughter Doll Quilt
This class is especially designed for Mothers (or Grandmothers, Aunts, Dads, etc.) and their favorite future quilter.  Debbie will guide you as you work together to create a doll sized quilt.  Don’t miss this great chance to spend some quality time with your special little seamstress.

Sunbonnet Sue & Teapots, Too! -  Redwork Wallhanging
Some of us love Sunbonnet Sue; some of us wouldn’t be too upset if she fell into a well.  Either way, you are going to love Debbie’s adorable wallhanging.  Debbie has used her embroidery machine to create the Sue blocks and then set them in this great pattern of her own design.  If you like doing the handwork, you are welcome to bring your own redwork blocks to class, and we will have Debbie’s Sue patterns available for you, as well.

Quick 2-Block Lap Quilt
This simple Lap Quilt is simple enough for beginners, but interesting enough to keep the more experience quilters going.

Hand Appliqué Workshops with Kelly
Kelly will conduct a one-hour workshop prior to her Appliqué Club (see listing in the Club Section) on the first Saturday of each month.  The workshops should be taken by anyone that is interested in joining the club, or if you are just interested in learning her simple and accurate method.   This method is so easy a cavewoman can do it!

Machine Quilting Workshop
Come and join Anne for this all-day machine quilting workshop.  She will walk you through all the basic skills you need and then add in a few specialized techniques using your own machine.  This is a class every quilter should have.  Even if you don’t think you like quilting, you need to know how to do it so that you can tell someone else how you want it done.  Come and have some fun with this great quilter!

Holly & Berries Tabletopper
At 26" square, this quilt would look lovely on your table, or hang it on the wall instead of a standard wreath for a touch of holiday color. This is great project for any skill level, Deb designed it using only squares and rectangles. The sample was made using Moda's newest retro line of fabrics, Christmas Past. If retro isn't your style, it would look just as beautiful in more traditional greens and reds. Snippets and a few larger pieces are all it takes to make this fun project. Make one in class and then go home and make several more to give as gifts this holiday season.
