| Chalk Cloth Challenge |
Pieceful Gathering customers were challenged to make something using our new "chalk cloth". Chalk cloth is a cool new fabric that you can write on with chalk (just like a chalkboard). We were amazed with the creativity and talent of our customers. All of the entries were truly unique and inspiring. To the right is the challenge winner, a chalk coloring book made by Dawn Swim. Congratulations Dawn! |

Bi-State Traveling Stitchers Shop Hop |
I hope that everyone had a great time visiting all of the shops in this shop hop. We would love to hear some feedback from those of you that were out hopping. What did you like best about this Shop Hop? What suggestions do you have for next year? Send us an e-mail with your thoughts.
If you missed the hop this year, you can still stop by and see our "Pieceful Travels Mystery Quilt". Each shop in the Shop Hop had a sample of the "Pieceful Travels Mystery" quilt done up in different fabrics. It was really neat seeing how different all of them looked. We chose to do ours very scrappy with civil war reproduction fabrics. I think it turned out beautiful! The pattern for this quilt was designed by Pieceful Gathering Quilt Shop owner Carrie Quinn and we should have the pattern available for sale soon. We still have some kits available of our version of the Pieceful Travels Mystery Quilt, but if you want to get one with the red borders don't wait too long. They will be available online for a limited time (and it's free shipping when you spend over $100). |

Each shop in the Shop Hop also gave each "hopper" three charm squares, one red, one white and one blue. We had a challenge here at the shop to see what we could do with these charm squares. Below is a picture of all of our challenge entries. The one on the right was voted the challenge winner. The girls who designed this table topper had never designed anything before and look at what they came up with! (I think the pitcher of Margaritas may have helped). If you're not sure what to do with all of those charm squares you got on the shop hop, hopefully these pictures will inspire you. We do have a pattern available for the Patriotic Charm Square Table Topper (our challenge winner). |

The Pieceful Auction was a success! |
With about 40 to 50 people in attendance, the shop was packed! There were customers sitting in every corner as Carrie auctioned off items from the staircase. Customers bid on items with their “Pieceful Bucks” which they have worked so hard to earn over the past few months. We auctioned off over 100 items ranging from scarps of fabric to quilting services donated by our two quilters Cathy and Vonnie. No one went home empty handed and I believe a good time was had by all. Thank you to all of our customers who came out and made this such a fun and successful event!
