Quilting 101: Beginning at the Beginning



This class is for beginning quilters or those quilters who want to polish or improve their techniques. We will cover how to prepare your fabric, safe and accurate cutting of fabric, and sewing basic patchwork blocks.

Duration: Five (5) 3-hour weekly sessions

  •      Cutting and Piecing Rectangles
  •      Rail Fence block
  •      Streaks of Lightening block

Week 4

  •      Cutting and Piecing Squares
  •      Pressing for efficient piecing (opposing seams)
  •      4-patch block
  •      9-patch block

Week 5

  •      Irish Chain block
  •      Putting blocks together: sewing blocks into rows and rows into a quilt top
